Senior Staff Accountant: Fox Television Stations, LLC, a division of 21st Century Fox, is seeking a dynamic individual to join its team. The Senior Accountant will work in partnership with the Finance Directors in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. This position will own the month-end close process via preparation of journal entries and coordination of intercompany activity with the corporate office and other stations. The Senior Accountant will prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring that account balances are properly supported and recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies. This position will be involved in the annual budget process as well as submission of tax and audit packages to the corporate office. Will serve as backup for daily log posting. Will assist with various ad-hoc reporting requests and implementation of new policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2-3 years of public or private corporate accounting experience required. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate must possess a strong work ethic and be able to prioritize multiple projects. Strong Microsoft Excel skills with knowledge of advanced functions is required. Knowledge of JDE or similar software is a plus. Broadcasting industry experience is a plus.

Sales Assistant: The FOX Owned & Operated duopoly in Chicago seeks a highly motivated individual to join our sales assistant team. The ideal candidate will assist members of the sales team with various projects, reports, and presentations. Core responsibilities include: data entry of broadcast orders, filing, organizing and verifying accuracy of all orders as well as complete follow through of the sales order process; Candidate must be extremely detailed oriented. The position requires daily interfacing with Sales Management, Accounting, Traffic, Research and Programming departments. REQUIREMENTS: College degree preferred. Qualifications include strong clerical, communication and problem-solving skills. Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide service excellence to clients and account executives. Prior broadcast sales assistant experience preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Wide Orbit, One Domain and Nielsen ratings knowledge a plus. This is a great career opportunity with long term career potential.

Producer: The Producer will line produce news shows, responsible for show content, production, monitoring wires, graphics, pitch stories, assist in story production and produce breaking news reports. Also responsible for producing segments within the morning news, such as booking guests/newsmakers, researching topics, developing questions for the anchors to ask guests/newsmakers, creating graphics and video support to enhance the segments. Duties also include news writing, tease writing and other duties as assigned. Strong social media skills essential. Candidate must have 3-5 years major market writing/producing experience as well as experience with on-line research. College degree and computer knowledge required. Must be hard working, creative and willing to learn.

Production Technician: RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Technician will operate auxiliary equipment as part of FOX32’s live news and sports productions.  These include but are not limited to robotic cameras, graphics and audio. The ability to excel under pressure in the fast paced environment of live local news alongside a talented team of producers and directors is required. The Production Technician will serve as the technical co-pilot for all news, sports and community affairs programming. Experience with studio LED lighting, ETC lighting consoles, Ross studio camera robotics, Calrec audio consoles, and Chyron graphics systems is preferred. The ability to mix multiple audio sources during any news or sports program. Candidate should have experience in an automated production control room environment. Interaction with talent and guests using excellent interpersonal communication, verbal skills and a professional demeanor is critical. Others duties may include recording news and programming feeds and tuning in Satellite and Microwave signals.  Preparing content for broadcast by ingesting and timing media as well as judging technical quality. Previous experience with or ability to learn Grass Valley iTX master control automation system is also helpful. Knowledge of windows server/client platforms, high performance storage systems, and video encoding/delivery systems is a plus. Perform other duties as assigned by management. REQUIREMENTS: Prefer candidates with 3 or more years of television production experience. Strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively isolate and resolve technical problems within network and broadcast systems. A team player that is able to work independently as required. In-depth troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform successfully under pressure are essential. Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks. Previous experience and knowledge in an IT architecture and infrastructure is a plus. Must be flexible with schedule including working on weekends and holidays. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. Position requires membership in NABET Local 41 union.

Meteorologist: This position is responsible for the daily preparation and delivery of the on air weathercasts, as well as performing as a morning news anchor and host. The successful incumbent will be responsible for daily participation and activity on station and individual social media platforms, preparing and posting weather and related information on station digital platforms and/or the platforms of station “partners”, preparing and implementing a severe weather plan, establishing a philosophy for the best delivery of weather information to the public, assisting with the maintenance of story boxes in the newsroom computer system including updating files and noting possible story ideas, reviews newscasts to ensure objectives are attained, meets all scheduling and broadcast deadlines, attends and participates in all scheduled meetings, and serves as back-up to Chief Meteorologist as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred. A degree or significant training meteorological science is a plus. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a broadcast meteorologist preferred, success in social media activity is a must. Must be certified as a meteorologist or working toward and completing certification within the first 18 months of employment. Must have experience in severe weather coverage and knowledge of industry-standard broadcast weather computer and radar systems. Must be a great communicator and have ideas on how to make weather current, relevant and interesting to viewers even on days when the weather is quiet. Demonstrated experience in use of social media and alert systems to disseminate weather information across multiple platforms preferred. Ability to shoot, edit and report stories as well as do traditional weathercasts. Must be flexible and able to work overtime, holidays and varied hours required.

Maintenance Technician - Transmitter: RESPONSIBILITIES: WFLD/WPWR is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a skill emphasis on installing, maintaining, and repairing full power UHF television transmission systems. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of all components related to the transmission system, including electrical, water cooling systems, encoders, exciters, antennas, and other various RF related equipment. Past experience with Harris and/or Comark DTV transmitters along with CPI and/or E2V IOTs is preferred. Well versed in reviewing and evaluating transmitter reports and able to document according to FCC requirements. This position will also perform duties at the studio including maintenance of master control and production automation systems, ingest and playback servers, routing systems, satellite distribution, microwave systems, networking equipment, server hardware, and other various facility needs as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a broadcast television station. Associates degree or higher in electronics or engineering. Formal technical training from military or trade school in electronics and/or RF technologies combined with 7 years previous related work experience can be substituted for a degree. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be flexible with schedule and willing to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must possess a valid drivers' license.

Per Diem Writer: RESPONSIBILITIES: Write stories assigned by producers, gather facts, find video and oversee editing of stories. Responsible for story content and accuracy. Perform duties of line producer when assigned. Must perform all other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have 2-3 years writing experience, experience as a line producer and computer knowledge preferred. Must be creative, concise, detail oriented, able to handle deadline pressure and take direction from producers. Reliability, good news judgment, and factual accuracy are crucial. Heavy sitting at workstation, light standing, bending, walking, and stair climbing are also required.

Account Executive: The Fox O&O duopoly in Chicago is looking for a highly motivated salesperson to join our Local Sales team. Candidate must have a strong track record of increasing station revenue/share on existing business in addition to developing new business and digital sales. Additionally, candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills. Solid computer skills and knowledge of industry software is a must. 3-5 years sales experience is preferred.
