Jeff comes to FOX 32 from KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas where he served as the evening news anchor and feature reporter for eleven years. Previously, he worked as KAKE's weekend sports anchor and reporter for 3 years. Jeff began his career in television at KTKA in Topeka, Kansas as a weekend sports anchor and reporter.

Herndon holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Wichita State University.

Jeff is one of only two television journalists to interview BTK, Dennis Rader while the notorious serial killer was incarcerated at the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita, Kansas. Jeff won an Emmy for his contributions to KAKE's news coverage of Rader's capture and eventual sentencing.

Jeff has been honored numerous times by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for news and sports reporting. He is also a 4-time Heartland Chapter Emmy award winner.
