America to say farewell to 'American Idol' after 15 seasons

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It’s the beginning of the end.

It’s hard to believe that after 15 seasons, it’s time to say goodbye to “American idol.”

The show that created world-wide sensations out of Carrie underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson – arguably the most effective talent competition of all time.

So when FOX 32’s Jake Hamilton sat down with Judge Harry Connick Jr., they talked about that success compared to all other shows.

But as much history as Harry has with the show, a lot took place long before he ever joined the judged panel – something he wishes he could have been a part of.

But not every artist – or established star – is cut out for the “Idol” process.
