Nicole Reams is a board-certified neurologist and one of the country’s few fellowship-trained Sports Neurologists. She has specialized training and experience in treating athletes with neurologic disorders and has a special interest in concussion.
Dr. Reams completed a fellowship in Sports Neurology at University of Michigan under the guidance of world-renowned concussion expert, Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher. In that role, she served as team physician for Eastern Michigan University, serving as a sideline and training room physician for the university’s 19 Division I sports teams.
Dr. Reams serves as the medical director and concussion specialist for United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association and has ringside physician experience through this organization. She also serves as an independent neurologic consultant for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Fire, Chicago Force, Chicago Wolves, and Northwestern University Athletics. She has spoken at several national meetings on the topics of Sports Concussion, Postconcussion Syndrome, and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. Dr. Reams sees athletes at all levels of play and provides consultation to numerous local high schools, colleges, and professional sports teams.
