Musical 'Gotta Dance' takes the stage in Chicago

It's the true story of an NBA halftime show dance crew, and they are all over the age of 60.

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Before it makes it’s way to Broadway, the new musical “Gotta Gance” is loosening up here in Chicago.

The show tells the true story of a group of dancers who audition to perform at an NBA half time show – the only catch is, they have to be over the age of 60.

We sat down with the entire cast – including five time Emmy nominee Georgia Engel of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” – who knows a bit about the skill of performing in front of an audience.

But Georgia isn’t the only classic TV vet taking the stage in Chicago – Stefanie Powers of “Hart to Hart” joins her, and says that she hopes this true story inspires others to perform as well.

The Producers. Spamalot. Kinky Boots - some of the greatest musicals of all time started right here in Chicago.

And as “Gotta Dance” encourages audiences of all ages to get off their feet, they can only hope to join that list.
