CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - FOX 32 News has teamed up with no-kill shelter PAWS Chicago to bring you an adoptable pet each week. This week, we're featuring a handsome dog named Hero!

Hero is a three-year old Shepherd mix who aims to connect with and please his humans. He was transferred to PAWS Chicago from the city pound, where he was adopted as a puppy but then brought back when his owners became ill and could no longer take care of him. As you can imagine, Hero is anxious to find a new home so he can resume his “heroic duties” of providing unconditional love to his family.

Hero is house trained and behaves like a perfect gentleman at home. He enjoys playing with chew and rope toys as well as tennis balls. Hero can be fearful of loud noises, strangers and being left alone for extended periods of time.  He is seeking an adopter who will help him gain confidence and become less fearful when meeting new people.

Hero would love a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced owner who is home often. He is itching to give unconditional love and adoration, and hopes you’ll meet him soon.  Learn more about adopting Hero at pawschicago.org, by calling 773-935-PAWS or by stopping by PAWS Chicago’s Lincoln Park Adoption Center, located at 1997 N. Clybourn Avenue in Chicago.
