Local love-sick can shred their ex this Valentine's Day

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Valentine’s day is the day when we appreciate the person who’s had the most loving impact on our lives, when you cherish that love and feel it flow through you.

But the folks at I-Love-Kickboxing in Aurora won’t be doing that. This Valentine’s Day weekend, they’ll be doing something else.

If you’re dreading Valentine’s Day, sick of all the hearts, despising the roses being delivered into your office – this might just be the perfect place to spend some time avoiding cupid’s arrow.

It’s called “Shred Your Ex.”

Some people have a face you just want to punch – even more likely if it’s an ex.

Dennis de Ramos, the owner of I-Love-Kickboxing, wants you to harness that aggression into an adrenaline filled workout that’ll distract the love-lorn.

But, as their obnoxious celebrity examples taught us, it doesn’t have to be an ex – just a negative influence on your life you want to punch away at.

A negative phrase, some bad news or, yes, even your current spouse.

Let’s be honest – Valentine’s Day just isn’t for everyone.

Not everyone needs a day to celebrate their significant other, and not everyone wants it. Because some of us have things we need to work out.

So if you do, throw on some gloves.

We’ve got work to do.
