Local men invent non-lethal pepper spray gun

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It can take down an attacker from hundreds of feet away, without doing any major harm.

SALT was created by two guys from right here in Chicago. According to a report from Digital Trends, instead of firing with deadly force, this gun was designed under the premise that a gun doesn’t have to take a life to protect a life.

Instead of coming armed with bullets, the SALT comes with pepper spray pellets that explode on impact.

One of the company's founders, Andy McIntosh joined us LIVE on GDC to talk more about his non-lethal gun and what spurred him to invent it.
