'Prisoner of Her Past' poignantly examines PTSD in Holocaust survivors

While May 5th is celebrated worldwide for Cinco de Mayo, Thursday is also recognized as Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Arts critic for the Chicago Tribune and the son of Holocaust survivors Howard Reich has made a film that digs deeper into his mother's childhood which was spent being hunted by Nazis in Poland.

The film and accompanying book examine the devastating effects of late onset post-traumatic stress disorder via the lens of his own mother.

Reich joins Good Day Chicago to talk about the process of creating the film and lessons he's learned along the way.
