"We are very grateful for the rapid response of the media and Arizonans in getting the word out today about Baby Gus Gus," states Karen Searle, Arizona State Fair Livestock Director.  "It's wonderful to be a part of a community that comes together to rescue a helpless animal and return it to his mama."

An Arizona State Fair staffer told FOX 10 that someone walking in the area of Peoria and 51st Avenue found the goat near a canal.  That person then dropped GusGus off at an area PetSmart store.

Officials say a baby goat was stolen from a petting zoo at the Arizona State Fair.

A spokeswoman with the Great American Petting Zoo at the fair tells Fox 10 that "GusGus" was stolen from the petting zoo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the zoo manager, "GusGus" will die without the care from his mother because he is only a few weeks old.

The zoo manager also says the baby goat's mother has been noticeably crying for "Gus"Gus" and it is not healthy for the mother to be separated from him.

If you have any information on the missing baby goat, please call the petting zoo at 602-568-2105.
