It's no secret that the meteorological spring (March through May) of 2015 has been cool and wet.

Something else to note is how similar the past two springs have been in terms of precipitation, as well as 70 and 80 degree temperatures.

Since March 1st, Chicago's O'Hare has received 7.02 inches of precipitation with 3.05 inches so far this May.

Through May 15th of 2014, Chicago's O'Hare received 8.37 inches of precipitation with 3.09 inches through the middle of last May.

So far there have been only 2 days in the 80s through May 15th, compared to 4 days in the 80s through May 15th of 2014.

Only 9 days have climbed into the 70s so far this spring, compared to 7 days in the 70s through May 15th of 2014.

The forecast is calling for both days this weekend to climb into the 80s, but fall-like temperatures look to return next week with at least 3 days in the 50s and 60s.

This leaves many Chicagoan's wondering about the upcoming summer months of June, July, and August.

With a cooler than normal spring of 2014, last summer saw only 3 days in the 90s compared to the normal of 18 days in the 90s.

The outlook for June through August is calling for temperatures, on average, to be near normal with near normal precipitation.
