SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A 19-year-old man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs for a fatal crash last year on I-88 near west suburban Downers Grove.
About 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15, 2015, state troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on westbound I-88 at milepost 133, according to Illinois State Police.
A green 1994 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ubaldo Torres collided with a white 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by 71-year-old Robert F. Froom, according to police.
Both Torres and Froom were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said. Froom, of Naperville, later succumbed to his injuries.
Torres was charged with one felony count of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs resulting in death, police said.
He was taken into custody Tuesday at his Aurora home and remains in custody on a $150,000 bond.
