(SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with robbing a Family Dollar store Monday in northwest Indiana.
Omarr R. Williams, 38, and 17-year-old Derek R. Fields are accused of robbing the store at Ridge Road and Broadway in Gary, according to a statement from Gary police. During the robbery, employees were forcibly moved around the store and one employee was injured.
The suspects were taken into custody less than 30 minutes after the robbery, police said. They were each charged with armed robbery, robbery resulting in bodily injury and four counts of kidnapping.
Williams and Fields, who both live in Gary, remained in custody Wednesday night, police said.
