West Pullman firehouse window damaged by gunfire

- A window of a firehouse was damaged by gunfire Tuesday night in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Officers were called at 10:38 p.m. to the Engine 75 fire station at 11958 S. State St. for reports of criminal damage to city property after a bullet went through a side window, according to Chicago Police.

The bullet landed on the floor of the apparatus area of the firehouse, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.

None of the firehouse staff were injured and none of the vehicles stored in the firehouse were damaged, Langford said. The operation of the firehouse was not affected and Engine 75 remains in full service to respond to fire and EMS calls in the area.

No one was in custody as of early Wednesday, police said.
