3 killed, 1 critically wounded in South Chicago shooting: Police

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Three people were killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting in the South Chicago neighborhood early Thursday, police said.

The four were shot about 12:10 a.m. in the 8000 block of South South Chicago, according to Chicago Police.

A 30-year-old woman died after she was shot in the neck and back, police said. A 20-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were also fatally shot. The locations of their wounds were not immediately available.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm their deaths.

A fourth person — a 42-year-old woman — was shot in the chest and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was in critical condition, police said.

The shooting was thought to be a domestic incident, police said.

No one was in custody Thursday morning as Area South detectives investigated.
