Guard fires at fleeing bank robber in Evergreen Park

CHICAGO (STMW) - A security guard fired a shot at a fleeing bank robber Wednesday in south suburban Evergreen Park.

About 11:59 a.m., a robber entered the First National Bank at 3960 W. 95th St. and demanded money without showing a weapon, Evergreen Park Police said. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money but was followed out by a security guard, who, after telling the robber to stop, fired a shot.

No one was injured, police said. The robber then crossed South Pulaski Road, got into a parked car and fled the scene.

He was last seen driving northbound in the 9400 block of South Pulaski Road, police said.
