7 wounded in South Side shootings Tuesday

CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - At least seven people were shot in separate South Side attacks Tuesday, according to Chicago Police.
The day’s latest shooting happened at 11:51 p.m. in the East Side neighborhood. A 22-year-old man was driving in the 10000 block of South Avenue L when a silver SUV pulled alongside his vehicle and a male inside opened fire, police said. The man suffered gunshot wounds to the back and showed up at Trinity Hospital. His condition was stabilized and he was transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
About 7:35 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was walking through an alley in the 6500 block of South King in the Woodlawn neighborhood when gunfire erupted and he was struck in the thigh, according to police. The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
Five minutes before that, a 26-year-old woman was hit by errant gunfire when someone started shooting from the street as she drove through the 100 block of East Michigan in the Washington Park neighborhood, police said. The woman, who wasn’t the intended target, was shot in the thigh and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
About 7 p.m., a 26-year-old man standing outside in the Back of the Yards neighborhood was shot by someone in a car that pulled out of an alley in the 4700 block of South Loomis, police said. He was hit in the back and leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
Tuesday afternoon, a person was shot in the Longwood Manor neighborhood. The male was hit in the thigh just before 3 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 98th Street and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but police did not have more information.
About 5 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, hand, arm and knee in the 4500 block of South Francisco in Brighton Park. He showed up at Saint Anthony Hospital and was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Tuesday’s first shooting happened shortly after midnight in Marquette Park. A 47-year-old man was standing on the front porch of a home in the 6300 block of South Rockwell when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the left thigh. His condition was stabilized at Christ Medical Center, police said.
On Monday, a 16-year-old boy was killed and at least nine more people were wounded in shootings on the city’s South and West sides.
Additionally, two people were found dead in a Ukrainian Village home in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday following a five-hour barricade situation, police said.
Officers responded about 5 p.m. to a call of a domestic-related shooting in a building in the 800 block of North Wolcott, according to Chicago Police. Someone refused to come out of the apartment, and the police SWAT team was called to the scene. SWAT team members made entry into the home about 10 p.m. and found a woman and man both dead inside, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not immediately confirm the fatalities. A police source said the deaths may have resulted from a murder-suicide. Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
