CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A man was killed and two others were wounded Friday night in a shooting in the Ravenswood neighborhood, about half a mile from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s home.
An argument broke out about 7:30 p.m. at a party inside an apartment in the 1900 block of West Belle Plaine, according to Chicago Police.
A 25-year-old man pulled out a handgun and shot a 23-year-old man in the neck and another 25-year-old in the abdomen, police said.
The second 25-year-old then pulled out another gun and shot the first man in the chest, police said. The initial shooter was dead at the scene, police said.
The other two were taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm the fatality.
The attack happened about four blocks southwest of Emanuel’s home in the 4200 block of North Hermitage.
