Aurora sex offender charged for failing to report address change

AURORA, Ill. (STMW) - A west suburban man has been charged with violating the terms of his sex offender registration, police said.

Kendall County sheriff’s deputies conducted an address verification check for registered sex offender Felipe Perez, 34, in the 1100 block of U.S. 30 in Aurora, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

During the check, deputies learned Perez failed to notify authorities about an address change within three days, as required by state law, according to the sheriff’s office. The Kendall County state’s attorney’s office approved a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender on Jan. 8.

Aurora police took Williams into custody Jan. 12, the sheriff’s office said. His bond was set at $50,000 based on a previous conviction for failing to register.

Perez is currently being held in Kendall County Jail
