DEERFIELD (STMW) - Three men forced two young boys into a house at gunpoint, then stole cash and jewelry in a home invasion Thursday evening near north suburban Deerfield.

The boys were playing outside about 7:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Inverrary Lane in unincorporated Deerfield when three male suspects got out of a vehicle, a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office said.

Two of the three suspects forced the juveniles inside one of the victims’ home at gunpoint, then forced an adult and the boys to the ground, police said.

“They then forced the adult victim to surrender $500 (cash) and approximately $10,000 worth of jewelry, while they held the victims at gunpoint,” police said.

The three then left and drove off in an unknown vehicle. The victims were not injured.

Police did not get a good description of the suspects, nor the vehicle, but did release a photo from a home surveillance system of two of the men.

Anyone able to identify the suspects or having information about the incident should call sheriff’s detectives at (847) 377-4250 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222.
