CHICAGO (STMW) - A man has been charged with shooting the mother of his children during a domestic argument last month in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Tarell Smith, 28, was arguing with the 23-year-old woman in the 12000 block of South Perry at 3:05 a.m. Oct. 29 when he shot her with a handgun, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the arm, and her condition was stabilized, police said.

Smith, who lives in the same block where the shooting happened, is charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery with a firearm and home invasion involving the discharge of a firearm, police said. He was expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
