Fox Lake spa employee charged with prostitution

FOX LAKE (STMW) - An employee at a spa in north suburban Fox Lake is facing a prostitution charge after she offered to perform a sexual act on an undercover detective for money, authorities said.

Chicago resident LiYun Liu, 48, was charged with one misdemeanor count of prostitution, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

The Lake County Task Force along with the Fox Lake police department conducted an investigation into reported prostitution at the Lake Spa at 31 Town Center Ln. in Fox Lake on Tuesday, according to the statement.

During the investigation, Liu offered to perform a sexual act on an undercover detective in exchange for money, according to the statement. She is next scheduled to appear in court Jan. 21.

This was the second arrest for prostitution at the same spa in the last six months. On June 29, 50-year-old Yan Jiang of Plainfield was arrested by Fox Lake police for operating an illegal massage parlor, according to the statement.

The village of Fox Lake will begin the process of revoking the spa’s business license.
