Man shot in Evanston

A man was shot Thursday morning in north suburban Evanston.

Officers responded to a shooting about 10:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Dodge Avenue, according to Evanston police.

The 23-year-old victim was shot in the upper right arm, and was taken to Evanston Hospital in good condition, police said.

Witnesses could not provide a good description of the suspects, police said. They ran southwest after the the shooting.

A police spokesman confirmed reports that the initial call came in as a burglary.

“The victim in this shooting is currently uncooperative with attempts by police to hold the individuals responsible for this violent act accountable,” police said in a statement. “Additionally, while a motive is unclear at this point in time, investigators believe this was not a random act.”
