Officials bust marijuana grow operation in Kane County, seize 68 pounds of cannabis

Officials uncovered roughly 200 cannabis plants and seized nearly 70 pounds of marijuana Tuesday from a indoor grow operation, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

A Kane County deputy made the discovery while monitoring a warehouse in Elburn, Ill., for "suspicious activity."

Maskin Gokhman, 36, was seen leaving the property and  was taken into custody after a Kane County K9 discovered roughly half a pound of marijuana inside his vehicle.

Special Investigations Unit Detectives located a grow operation inside the warehouse, containing around 200 cannabis plants at "various stages of growth," according to the sheriff's office. The estimated street value of the harvested marijuana was approximately $150,000 according to the statement.

Gokhman, who had two warrants out for his arrest, was charged with four felonies.
