One in custody when police chase ends in crash on West Side

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A person was in custody Wednesday evening after a police chase ended in a crash in the West Side Tri-Taylor neighborhood.

At 4:56 p.m., officers began to pursue a vehicle in the area of Harrison Street and Sacramento Boulevard, according to Chicago Police. The pursuit ended in a traffic crash near Harrison Street and Western Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The driver of the vehicle ran away on foot, but was taken into custody, police said. Charges against the driver were pending. A second person, who was a passenger in the vehicle, escaped.
