Police: Man found dead with throat slit on West Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A man was found dead with his throat slit Sunday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

The body was discovered with a neck laceration about 8:45 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Monroe, police said. A knife was found nearby.

The man was thought to be between 25 and 35 years old, police said. He was dead at the scene.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not immediately confirm the death. Area North detectives have launched a homicide investigation.
