A man tried to lure three children while they were walking to school Thursday morning in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

Two 13-year-old girls and a 10-year-old boy were walking in the 4600 block of South Rockwell about 8 a.m. when the man started to follow them, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

He made a sexual comment to the girls, offered them money for a sex act, and then grabbed the boy’s backpack, police said. The boy was able to pull away and the man ran off.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 35, according to police. He stood 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 with a heavy build, medium dark complexion, light beard, mustache and scar near his eye. He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt with white lettering.

Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
