CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Bond was denied Saturday for a 19-year-old woman who police say gave birth to a girl whom she then dropped to her death from the 8th floor window of an Uptown neighborhood high-rise Wednesday night.

Mubashra Uddin faces faces first-degree murder charges, according to Chicago Police.

About 11:20 p.m., the girl was found in the yard of the building in the 800 block of West Eastwood, the same block Uddin lives on, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The newborn was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m., authorities said. An autopsy Thursday found she died of multiple blunt force injuries and ruled her death a homicide.

Uddin had dropped the girl from the window shortly after giving birth, police said.

A judge on Saturday ordered Uddin held without bond, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. She is due back in court Monday.
