Police release photos of downtown business burglar

CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are searching for a burglar who robbed businesses in the Loop and South Loop twice this month.

In both burglaries, the suspect broke into small retail stores or restaurants by breaking glass doors or windows, and stole cash from registers or offices, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

One burglary happened at 4:20 a.m. Jan. 15 in the 0 – 100 block of West Jackson, while the other happened at 12:10 a.m. Jan. 24 in the 1100 block of South Jefferson, police said.

A victim described the burglar as a black male with a beard, mustache and a dark complexion, police said. He was wearing black rimmed glasses, a black hat, a black winter jacket and black pants.
