Police warn of commercial burglaries in Rogers Park

CHICAGO (STMW) - Chicago Police are warning businesses in the North Side Rogers Park neighborhood of burglaries.

Two commercial burglaries have been reported in the neighborhood since Jan. 26, according to a community alert from police.

Police said both burglaries happened in the 7100 block of North Clark Street between Jan. 26 and Jan. 27, one between 9:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and the other between 6 p.m. and 11 a.m. In each break-in, the burglar pried open the back door to get into the business.

In one of the burglaries, the suspect also kicked in an interior door and cut through drywall to access the first floor, police said. The man took a guitar, laptop computer, miscellaneous tools, cash, watches and a ring.

One of the suspects is described as a black man, 25-45 years of age, standing 6-foot to 6-foot-3, weighing 215-230 pounds and wearing a black do-rag, white visor, light colored pants and a jacket with a hood, police said.
