Police release surveillance photos from North Side burglaries

CHICAGO (STMW) - Police have released surveillance video images from two burglaries in the Lake View and North Center neighborhoods in the last month that prompted an alert to businesses on the North Side.

According to Area North detectives, the burglaries occurred in the 4000 block of North Lincoln about 3:30 a.m. Jan. 26; and in the 1200 block of West Belmont on Feb. 23 about 1:40 a.m.

In the Lincoln Avenue burglary, the suspect was described as a black man between 25 and 30, police said. He stands 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 and weights 250 pounds.

In the Belmont Avenue burglary, the suspect was described as a black man between 35 and 45, police said. He stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 220 pounds.
