Police warn of robberies at ATMs in Lake View

CHICAGO (STMW) - Chicago Police are warning residents of robberies at ATMs in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

At least two robberies have been reported since Jan. 16, according to a community alert from police.

The robberies happened at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 16 in the 3400 block of North Clark Street and at 3:30 a.m. Jan. 26 in the 3500 block of North Clark Street, police said.

In the first robbery, one man approached the victim at an ATM and demanded their wallet and debit cards, police said. In the second robbery, three men surrounded the victim at an ATM.

In the first robbery, the suspect is described as a 25 to 35-year-old black man standing 6-foot and weighing 190 pounds, police said. In the second robbery, the suspects are described as three black men, two of whom were 20-25 years old. One stood about 5-foot-8 and another was about 5-foot-10.
