South Side man charged with three hold-ups in the same day

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was charged Sunday with robbing three businesses at gunpoint on Saturday in the Lincoln Park and Near West Side neighborhoods.

Michael Jackson, 58, of the 9000 block of South Parnell Avenue, was charged with one count of aggravated robbery, one count of robbery and one count of attempted robbery, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

He was arrested after being identified as the man who implied he had a gun while robbing a retail store at 2:39 p.m. in the 400 block of West Armitage Avenue, police said.

Police also discovered that he robbed a convenience store earlier at 8:02 a.m. in the 2000 block of North Halsted Street and also attempted to rob a restaurant at 11:43 a.m. in the 100 block of South Clinton Street.

His bond was set at $200,000 on Monday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
