LINCOLNWOOD (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A road rage incident on the Edens Expressway (I-94) led to a call of shots fired on the Northwest Side, shutting down the exit ramp to Touhy Avenue for more than an hour during the Monday morning rush near north suburban Lincolnwood.
An altercation started about 7:15 a.m. between people in two separate vehicle in the northbound lanes of the expressway near Wilson Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.
The driver of one of the vehicles exited at Touhy and later claimed someone in the other car showed a silver handgun and fired at least one round in their direction. No people or vehicles were hit by gunfire, police said.
The off-ramp was shut down until about 8:45 a.m. as troopers searched for shell casings. None were found, police said.
