Man dies after being beaten in Evergreen Park

A man died Monday night after he was beaten by three acquaintances Saturday morning inside a southwest suburban Evergreen Park home.

Someone called authorities at 8:41 a.m. Saturday to request a well-being check on a man believed to be injured inside a home in the 8700 block of South Francisco Avenue in Evergreen Park, according to Evergreen Park Police Captain Peter Donovan. Officers arrived to find David G. Chikerotis with “severe injuries.”

Chikerotis, who lived in Chicago, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:43 p.m. on Monday, Donovan said.

Three people have been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm for the attack: Jonathan M. Owens, 30 and Jessica Doherty, 26, both of the Clearing neighborhood on the city’s Southwest Side; and 33-year-old Stacy L. Krisik of Evergreen Park, police sad. Upgraded charges are pending following Chikerotis’ death.

Doherty, Owens and Krisik were denied bail Monday in Cook County court, police said. They are due in court again April 22.

Further details about the attack were not immediately available.
