Dallas shooting witness credits wounded officer with saving his life

A man who was present for the Dallas shooting on Thursday credits one of the wounded officers with saving his life. Raphael Taylor told NBC DFW that Dallas Area Rapid Transit Officer Misty McBride tried to run over to help Taylor and others when the gunman opened fire, but she was shot in the process.

"She saved my life," Taylor said of McBride, who suffered gunshot wounds to her abdomen and arm.

McBride, 32, has been a DART officer for six years and previously worked at the Dallas County Jail. She was reportedly released from Baylor Medical Center on Saturday night.

Taylor said that he has a message for her: "Thank you. And I hope that you get better. I hope you're well. And I hope that God [is] with you."
