DeKalb County DA: Gang members responsible for infant's murder

Kenneth Eric Jackson, Georgia's highest ranking member of the Sex Money Murder Bloods set was indicted on murder and gang charges in the death of 9-month-old KenDarious Edwards, Jr. in May of 2014.

DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James called Jackson the mastermind behind the assassination plot, ordering the murder from prison. “This is a significant blow to this organization. Anytime leadership is indicted it's significant,” said James.

The infant was killed; his mother, grandmother and a family friend were wounded in a retaliation shooting at the family's home on Lani Farm Road.

James said convicted killer Devin Thomas as well as Marco Watson and Christopher Florence, who are both named in the indictment, forced their way into the residence cornered the victims in a bathroom and gunned them down.

DeKalb County Public Safety Director Dr. Cedric Alexander recalled the promise he made to the baby's family following the tragedy. “One thing that I promised them is we were going to find resolve to this case, and we did. It took us some time, with the help of the District Attorney's office and the help of our partners. That's the reason we are here today,” said Alexander.

 

 

The men face several charges including malice murder, felony murder and violation of Georgia's Street Gang and Terrorism Act.

Eunice English, who the DA said is not a gang member, is also named in the indictment. Watson, who allegedly participated in the shooting as part of a gang initiation, and English were also charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault for witness intimidation.
