(FOX News) - This little girl in Colorado hadn't seen her father, an Army soldier, in eight months, and she wasn't about to wait one minute longer.

When the 300 soldiers returned to Fort Carson Tuesday, they were asked - as is customary - to stand in formation for a formal welcome before their commander dismissed them to greet their loved ones.

But Cara Oglesby couldn't help but interrupt, running out of the crowd and across the floor to hug her daddy.

“Cara, she made eye contact with me in the crowd and decided she wanted to say hello a little early so she ran up and gave me a big hug and I just returned the hug back to her,” Lt. Daniel Oglesby told FOX 21 News.
