CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - Eight new Krispy Kreme stores are coming to town.
The popular doughnut franchise is returning to the Chicago area for the first time since the Great Recession, according to multiple reports. The first of eight new shops coming to the area broke ground in Homewood today.
The southern Cook County location is expected to open in November, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Known for its "Hot Now" light and glazed lineup of delicious pastries, Krispy Kreme was founded in North Carolina and has a heavy presence in the southeastern United States.
The doughnut company, which has more than 1,000 shops across 24 countries, signed a development agreement with Chicagoland Restaurants, LLC to construct eight new stores throughout Cook County.
