Death of man pulled from Lake Michigan ruled suicide

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - The death of a man whose body was pulled from Lake Michigan Tuesday afternoon on the South Side was ruled a suicide, an autopsy found.

A police marine unit recovered the body of 30-year-old Robert M. Dain at 2:42 p.m. about 100 yards from shore off 31st Street Beach, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Dain, who lived in the 1300 block of West 31st Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a suicide.
