FOX 32 NEWS - Hillary Clinton's visited her childhood hometown on Thursday, holding a big bucks fundraiser and facing a new challenge from Donald Trump to make her husband's extramarital cheating a campaign issue.
When Mrs. Clinton's campaign plane landed at Midway Airport, reporters asked about the Trump campaign's new criticism of harsh language she used on women linked romantically to her husband.
“I'm not going to comment on how he runs his campaign. You'll be able to see - we have two more debates - what he says and what I say,” Clinton said.
Daughter Chelsea Clinton called talk of her father's infidelities a "distraction." But Juanita Brodderick, who claims former President Bill Clinton assaulted her decades ago, responded on Twitter: "your father was, and probably still is, a sexual predator. Your mother has always lied and covered up for him."
Trump confidant Rudy Giuliani said the issue reflected on Hillary Clinton's judgment.
“If you didn't know the moment that Monica Lewinski said that Bill Clinton violated her that she was telling the truth, then you're too stupid to be President,” Giuliani said.
In New Hampshire, the candidate himself said the Clintons represent America's "sordid past."
“The American people have had it with corrupt Clinton ways. They've had it. They're tired of the lies,” Trump said.
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin shared the stage with Mrs. Clinton at Thursday’s fundraiser. He called the Republicans hypocrites, noting the extramarital affairs of Trump and Giuliani.
“I look at Donald Trump's personal life and I can't imagine that he wants to make personal lives and marriages and other issues of a personal nature at the forefront of his campaign. Is he that desperate?” Durbin said.
There’s 39 days until Nov. 8th when the votes will be counted.
Although a number of big name republicans are not backing Trump, his campaign released a list of several new GOP endorsers, including former North Shore congressman and defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
