CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A body pulled from Lake Michigan near Navy Pier Saturday afternoon has been identified as a 21-year-old woman who was reported missing more than a month ago.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit responded to a call of a person in the water at 4:20 p.m. near the pier at 600 E. Grand Ave. and recovered the body of a female, according to Chicago Police.

She has since been identified as 21-year-old Jessica Suarez, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Suarez was reported missing after she left her home about 6 a.m. on Feb. 24 in the 6100 block of North Talman and never returned, according to police. Her car was later found unoccupied and parked at 5100 N. Simmons Dr. on the lakefront.

An autopsy did not immediately rule on Suarez’s cause and manner of death pending further investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.
