CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s correctional officer was wounded in a Little Village neighborhood shooting Monday night.
About 10:25 p.m., the 37-year-old man was standing in an alley in the 2800 block of South Tripp when a dark-colored van pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.
He was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.
The officer had just left work for the day, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said. His injuries weren’t thought to be life-threatening.
