Six people were injured, including two children, when a vehicle crashed as it was followed by police in Fifth City on the West Side.

Chicago police said the vehicle lost control as officers attempted to pull it over for a minor traffic violation in the 3400 block of West Congress Parkway.

The silver-colored car crashed into a truck at Homan Avenue at 8:45 p.m., police said. Three people in the car attempted to flee from police, but were arrested nearby. They suffered minor injuries.

Two boys and a man were taken from the truck to Stroger Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
