CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Summer is winding down, but job opportunities are popping up for Chicago's youth.
Major corporations are participating in a huge job fair at McCormick Place Thursday, and FOX 32 News has learned some job offers will be made on the spot!
The job fair will offer youth to meet and interview with companies part of the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative.The 29 companies part of the group say they will hire at least 100,000 young people by 2018. Companies participating in the job fair include Chipotle Mexican Grill, Domino's, FedEx, Hyatt, Nordstrom, Pizza Hut, Red Robin, Microsoft, Walgreens, Walmart and many more.
Workshops, college counseling, skill development, resume building,and small group discussion sessions will also be offered.
Organizers say hundreds of jobs will be offered on the spot.
Grammy and Academy Award winning artist Common, as well as other community business leaders, artists and celebrities, are expected to attend the event.
The job fair will take place on Thursday, August 13 at McCormick Place from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
