Across the country gas prices have fallen nearly every day for the last two months. The average retail price of gasoline in Chicago has fallen to 8.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging about $1.78 per gallon at the pump.
Monday, prices at the pump were 51.6 cents lower than the same day one year ago, and are 37.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 19.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 25.3 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
