CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A shooting reported on the outbound Kennedy Expressway early Monday caused significant delays during the morning commute.
Illinois State Police and IDOT officials shut down the outbound lanes of the expressway at Montrose to conduct an investigation.
The shots were fired from a blue Chevy TrailBlazer from a white Toyota Camry at 5:15 a.m. near Sayre Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.
There were a couple bullet holes in the Camry, but no one was struck, police said.
The lanes were reopened just before 7:45 a.m. Expect heavy delays in the area. If you are heading to O'Hare International Airport, FOX 32's Jenny Milkowski reports to take the Edens to Touhy as an alternate route.
