ROSEMONT, Illinois (Fox 32 News) -  The investigation into how a Chicago teenager ended up dead in a hotel freezer continued as family and friends gathered to bring attention to the case.

Kenneka Jones, 19, was found dead in a walk-in freezer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont last weekend. Hotel surveillance video shows Jenkins appearing to be impaired, heavily, stumbling through hallways of the hotel as she tries to find her way back to the lobby. Jenkins is seen walking into a hotel kitchen. But the point at which she goes into the freezer is not on the video.

The medical examiner has not ruled on the cause of her death and is expected to rule in the coming weeks.

Both investigators and the girl’s mother say Jenkins went to the hotel last weekend to party with friends.

A group, including Jenkins' mother, Teresa Martin, gathered outside the hotel Saturday evening after activists called for a separate investigation by the FBI earlier in the day.

An FBI spokesman said they will support local police, if requested.

Rosemont Police said Friday that they've interviewed 16 out of 31 people and are still looking for 15 others as they try to determine exactly what happened.
