CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Amazon is bringing a massive fulfillment center -- and the jobs that come with it -- to the southwest suburbs.
The company announced it will build a 750,000-square-foot facility in Romeoville. Amazon is already in Joliet.
The Romeoville site will handle large items like big screen TV's, kayaks, and sports equipment.
Amazon says the fulfillment center will create hundreds of full time jobs.
“We are excited to add this new fulfillment center in Romeoville,” said Akash Chauhan, vice president of Amazon’s North America Operations. “Expanding our footprint in Illinois brings hundreds and hundreds of full-time jobs with competitive pay and great benefits starting on day one to the state.”
Employees will sort, pack, and ship customer orders.
Amazon is now hiring for associate roles at the Romeoville fulfillment center. Additional details can be found at www.amazon.com/mdwjobs.
