CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A woman was struck by a CTA bus and killed Tuesday evening in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.

At 7:29 p.m., 37-year-old Tasha Nicole Wilson was in the street in the first block of West 79th Street when she was struck by the bus as it turned from Lafayette Avenue, according to Chicago Fire Media Affairs, Chicago Police and the CTA. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. She lived in the Fuller Park neighborhood.

An autopsy found Wilson died from multiple injuries related to the crash, and her death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

The man driving the bus was cited for failure to take due care for a pedestrian in the crosswalk, police said.
